Hi there! I’m so glad you’ve found our blog😊 I’ve written some info below on how our family got started using essential oils on a regular basis and what we have learned along the way! If you are not using essential oils yet or are just using over the counter oils, I Highly recommend you do some research on the benefits and differences in the essential oils themselves and the company’s level of quality that you are purchasing them from.

I was first introduced to essential oils in massage therapy school in 2003 but did not grasp at the time that with the right kind of pure, therapeutic oil they could be of much more value than just a good foo foo aroma. I started using them here and there to see how well they worked and particularly after we had kids as I was looking for things without toxic chemicals that we could use on ourselves and around the house that didn’t cost a lot of money. I sampled and researched multiple different oils, their companies and their methods and finally settled on a certain brand and here’s a few reasons why.

1. Longest Track Record and Highest Standards.
Young Living oils has been around since 1993, 30+ years, and were one of the first companies to really zone in on providing a high quality 100% purely therapeutic oil without fillers, synthetics and additives ect. Many companies claim this but it often means that 5% of the oil in them is pure. That doesn’t keep them from having 95% filler. Up until this year I had used and tried many other oils here and there which had not worked as well and I don’t even want to think about how much money I wasted.

Young Living has their own farms on almost every continent and they’ve taken it to the next level by growing, harvesting, distilling, testing and bottling all their oils. They do not purchase or rebottle their oils from other sources as other companies do. They even make their own herbicide for the plants with a mixture of their essential oils and castile soap.

2. Largest Selection, Highest Quality.
They have the largest and best selection of oils from singles to blends than any other oil company I’ve tried….over 150 oils plus many other products to help with nutrition and detoxing your home and body.

3. Membership Discount.
I love getting discounts! We have a Costco membership which has saved us tons of money on the whole and organic foods I buy for our family, not to mention the cash back I get at the end of the year that more than pays for our membership. We get a similar thing with our essential oil membership. Members receive 24% off the retail price and you only need to spend $50 in a year to keep your membership active. Also if you spend a certain amount in a transaction you receive extra oils and points towards products for free!

So like I was saying at the beginning, if I was going to pick an oil company for our family to use it had to be the best, most effective ones I could find before spending our hard earned cash on them and Young Living blew the others out of the water for me in terms of company standards, education, cost, effectiveness and money saved.
