In Dec of 03 my husband and I met at a singles class I had been attending at our church. It wasn’t like me to just go up and introduce myself to new people but for some reason this time I did. Corey and his sister had been looking for a church to attend in the area and decided to come back to FBR. We saw each other at church here and there but didn’t really start hanging out or getting to know each other until that spring. On July 17, 2004 we took a ride on his motorcycle to eat dinner and go to Watkins Mill and that’s when he told me he’d like for us to become more than just friends.

If you ask some of our family when they thought we’d get engaged they would’ve told you December 04. Even though the holidays were a little too early for engagement plans we have to admit they must have known something was up. One afternoon in May 2005 after taking the motorcycle to my aunt’s house he decided we should take the ‘scenic route’ home. This just so happened to be Watkins Mill which was the area of our first official date. I was kind of suspicious when we pulled in there but I quickly put it out of my mind because I didn’t want to assume something was up for no reason. After walking around for a little bit we sat down on a park bench and that’s when he said ‘I want us to be together forever, will you marry me?’
